I have been running Ubuntu 12.04 for quite a while and today attempted to upgrade (using auto upgrade) to 14.04.
Everything seemed to go well (no error messages) until I tried to reboot. Things stopped at the "grub" prompt.
I created a live-DVD, booted with it, used apt-get to install boot-repair and used the "recommended repair" option.

After rebooting, the issue remained the same.
Any help that can be given would be appreciated!
