I'm running Ubuntu 12.04.4 on my IBM Thinkpad G41. I want to downgrade to 12.04.1 to improve performance (hopefully). All archives point to either 12.04.4 or 12.04.5. Can anyone please provide a link to download 12.04.1? Thanks.

Scroll down this page
http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/releases/12.04.1/
(Nevermind that the page probably says 12.04.3)
And look for the iso you want to use

It should look like this (64 bit)
ubuntu-12.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso 23-Aug-2012 17:13 694M Ubuntu 12.04.3 (Precise Pangolin)

or this (32 bit)

ubuntu-12.04.1-desktop-i386.iso 17-Aug-2012 22:18 695M Ubuntu 12.04.3 (Precise Pangolin)

Those will be direct downloads, as you will see below those are also torrent links, if you want to trry it that way...
Hope this helps

If you look at the charts at the end of this page you will see that if we want kernel support until April 2017 we should be using either 12.04.0 or 12.04.1 or 12.04.5. So, moving off of 12.04.4 is a move in the right direction.

Chart name: 12.04.x Ubuntu Kernel Support
