i have a radeon hd6470m in an acer aspire 7551g
when i open CCC on ubuntu it installed the driver for the 7400m series, and its causing the laptop to run hot and the screen to flicker, is there a way i can change it to the 6470m driver?

Proprietary video drivers cover a range of graphic adapters. It is not unusual for the latest proprietary video driver that supports the latest graphic adapters to also support earlier graphic adapters. Then at some point in time the makers of graphic adapters decide to remove support for old adapters from the latest drivers. Is that your situation?

The Additional Drivers utility usually gives us a choice of two to four proprietary video drivers. The Ubuntu Software Centre may allow us to install older versions of video drivers that are not offered in Additional Drivers.
