What about the automagically installed 'Apps'?

When I with the browser reached facebook, Ubuntu 14.04LTS asked about to install a 'facebook-app for better performance and more functionallity. Same thing with Googles, gmail, calandar and stuff.
Anyway I installed the facebook-app, but there are no manual or settings. I tried Ctrl + +, to get larger font, but it does not work.

Is there any point with this 'apps'; facebook, gmail, calendar, launchpad, youtube and so on, and how do I configure them?

Have now find that it's https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/trusty/amd64/friends-facebook I think. But no manual to configure for instance font size.

Don't those use the Ubuntu Browser, rather than firefox or chrome(ium) or what have you?

Indeed, not that great results (yet) but a huge potential. I predict that sooner than later most interactions with social networks and content providers (Youtube, etc.) will go trough this kind of apps instead of a generic browser like we're used to now.

Thanx. seems to bee bad things... Yes i use FF, and think it's work well there. I tested on a AsRock 2x1,6GHz and think It maybee get little faster, but If another webbrowser starts, it's not easier for the system, I think. And It also seems buggy :(

Or Ubuntu Web Browser (Browser)? The Ubuntu Web Browser has come from Ubuntu for devices (phones and tablets). It is very much under development and it is not yet fully compliant with what we expect from desktop web browser. In other words, it is very limited in what it can do and we should not expect too much from it.
