View Full Version : upgraded to 14.04 many problems

1. On restart it hangs on the blue starting screen "press del to enter bios" for about 5 minutes. After that ubuntu starts and the Ubuntu screen comes up.
It takes a couple of minutes more though before the usb-s are recognized. Mouse not moving until after 2 minutes more-
2. Printer hp 1020 black and white not printing communication error 5012
3. very worrying problem
VPN will not start, desperately needs VPN " service failed to start"
If not solvable I must make a clean install back to 12.04
Do hope you have solutions for my problem. 67 years of age not an idiot when it comes to computers but no genius either, so will not be offended if you are very thorough like speaking to a 10-year old.

Better to do a clean install of 14.04.1.

That's the machine before loading any part of Ubuntu.
You have a hardware problem. Motherboard, memory, etc. Some hardware inside the box.
