I check the http://www.cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases but didn't find any installation iso for 14.04 and 14.04.1 i386 desktop iso images.

I usually use a mirror to lessen data transfer costs for Canonical. Here's a list:

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archivemirrors

I'm assuming that the listed version is the most current released one - 14.04.1, 12.04.5 etc. etc. I don't know this though. One way to tell if you're not download restricted would be to create a live install and check with kernel/image version. The mirrors all show i386 versions. Another less download intensive method might be to check the md5 signature against those published for various releases.

Thanks for using mirrors, but

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archivemirrors

is for downloading updates. For the ISO files this is the direct link:

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+cdmirrors

I don't know about all mirrors but this one has .iso, zsync, torrent links (another good option IMO) and more.
http://mirrors.rit.edu/ubuntu-releases/14.04.1/

It also has both 14.04 and 14.04.1 iso in i386 desktop, amd64 desktop and server.

The mirrors at MIT and University of Maryland are good as well. In the northeastern U.S. they'll saturate a 25 mb. download connection during off peak times.
