I just installed Ubuntu 14.04 on a HP desktop. I had problems when I had to Authenticate my password. I found out my input to root was not being received correctly (ie in order to type 'a' I had to enter 'f', to enter 'e' I had to enter 'g' etc..). After using this decoding sequence for changing my password, Authenticating worked good. What would have cause this in root and how to fix this situation as well? Thanks for your reply.
