X Sane Scanner has black line in the middle of pages?

Hello,

in the xsane scanne program appears a black line nearly in the middle of every page I scan. its not a hardware thing, tried different modes of scanning, its with all of them. How to get rid of it?

I have ubuntu 14.4 lts, xsane, scanner puxma mx310.

I have never seen the black line problem before, and don't have any ideas on how to rid yourself of it. I notice that there have been 89 views of this post, with no replies. Another approach may be to contact someone like support@freegeek.org, a Portland, Oregon computer resource centre. I don't know your location, but you may have access to other, more local computer organizations. Freegeek is a recycler and builder of computers.

How did you determine that is was not a hardware problem? It sounds like a problem with your scanner, not your computer! :)
