One of my clients has installed one of these in a local lab for evaluation.I was pleasantly surprised that the operation software is running on a full Lubuntu installation.

The Vimeo clip is better than the youtube one.

Nice ot hear that PaulGirardin. Lubuntu makes sens to replace XP, it's a very responsive, lightweight operating system. These labs are saving money, why should they have to upgrade fully functional hardware when they can just install a free OS with Long Term Support?

This is the OS that the manufacturer of the analyser has chosen.Unfortunately the Lab information system software I see in labs is invariably running on microsoft OSs.The LIS software developers are too tied in to MS to try anything different. The same can be said for most of the equipment manufacturers. The only other Linux based system I have seen was a sample sorting robot from Germany that was controlled by Qnx.

It's not very long ago that I noticed that Sainsburys (Brit supermarket chain) were using Windows 2000! In fact they may still be doing so, I'll have to check when I go buy milk later.
