View Full Version : [ubuntu] ISO image not working after burning to DVD

Searching related threads and don't find a solution. I've installed many versions of Ubuntu over the years successfully (including a dual boot system running Win7/Ubuntu 14.04 on this machine). Today I have tried burning an existing 14.04 64 bit iso image both from Ubuntu and from Windows. On both systems, the process runs as expected, completes, disc is verified, but then shows up as blank when inserted (in either Ubuntu or Windows).

I've toasted three bland DVD's so far. What am I doing wrong? I don't get it.

Help much appreciated.

Thanks.

I once bought a box of ten Memorex CDs and they were all duff. They all had scratches near the center hole caused during their manufacture.
If your machine is reasonably old I would recommend that you clean the lens in your drive. Mine has cigarette smoke and pet hairs in it on a regular basis :(
