Hi guys,

I've installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my dekstop and instead of Unity I am using gnome like in older versions. Everything is working fine except that some programs that are supposed to show it's icons in tray (Dropbox, Pidgin) are not there. I tried to add them to the white list like I found in the internet, but it is not working.

Is there any way to allow all programs to show its icons in tray in this version of Ubuntu?

I haven't used 12.04 in a while , but Pidgin appeared in the message menu along with Tbird as it does on current versions . I was using Ubuntu One at that time and there are threads addressing the Dropbox indicator issue . It isn't possible to drag and drop icons to the panel in Unity, but it can be done in the Fallback Session . http://www.ubuntugeek.com/how-to-install-classic-gnome-desktop-in-ubuntu-12-04-precise.html
