Hi,

Just downloaded and installed Ubuntu 14.04 LTS dual-boot with Windows 8.1

However even on the LiveUSB, Ubuntu has a 2px "pink" strip down the left-hand side -- almost as if the display is not in the correct position within the screen.

As it is Pink/Fuscia it is annoying as hell it's not even black.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jamie.

What kind of a system do you have, what graphics chip, 32-bit or 64-bit?

FWIW, I get the same thing with the Nouveau driver and a GTX650Ti graphics card, LiveCd and installed. Everything is OK with the nVidia proprietry driver.

Hi, thanks for the reply - sorry I haven't gotten back to you.

I have an EVGA Nvidia GTX 770 -- and I had installed the Proprietary driver that I saw in a guide online. It was working correctly.

HOWEVER, I have restarted my computer now, and the pixels are gone, and Ubuntu looks gorgeous :D

Thanks for the response. Hope this helps anyone else -- install drivers and RESTART computer.

Regards,
Jamie.
