After upgrade from 13.10 to 14.4 lts ubuntu wont get past login

Hey
Since 2 years now i am using my Mac book pro alte 2008 with ubuntu. I am very happy to replace the Mac os.
Unfotuneatly Since 3 days, my laptop us not able to get past the login.
After i enter my password, i am still able to move my coursor and see the 14.4 lts Logo in the bottom left but thats about it.
Pls help me! I have tried to work my way around but it does not seem to work.
Do you have advices where i should start?

Most likely cause is you have broken Unity plug-in (likely caused by vid drivers).
What are the specs of your mac? specially graphics?
