Running a fresh 14.04 server with a satellite postfix server .... so email can be forwarded to the real email server for system status.
Anyway, installed mailutils and saw that mysql-common and libmysqlclient18 packages are listed as dependencies! Holy CRAP! Seriously? I just want a tiny CLI mail interface to postfix/sendmail. There were other dependencies too.
Is this a bug?
heirloom-mailx was the needed answer. Odd that running mailx didn't recommend that. Guess the package recommendation package isn't installed?
All this started because logwatch wasn't sending the expected daily emails and I needed a way to test to resolve that.
