I heard about this "YO" app yesterday, still trying to understand the point of it. But what do you mean by "is it safe?".

If you download and install Android apps only through the Google Play Store, then there is a very low chance of installing malware.

Sorry, for a link to a German blog post. No English blog post at hand right now. But the crucial part is in English nonetheless. And the conclusion can only be: YO! is not safe. It is useless and it is dangerous using it. Cf. here (http://stadt-bremerhaven.de/yo-messenger-eure-handynummer/) and Yes, it's possible to grab anyone's phone number on Yo. Are we talking about this App? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.globetel.yo

If yes, then I'd say "no", I wouldn't trust it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.globetel.yo

Personally, I don't trust many apps at all to run on my phone, but I am paranoid like that. http://www.darkreading.com/android-mobile-malware-found-in-the-wild/d/d-id/1138973?

Wish I had the time to translate the article for you, but I'm on my cell. Very sarcastic. One spot is pretty good, and I'll paraphrase: Maybe the investors who have sunk over $1 million will be more circumspect and invest in more sensible apps.

Hrm. Let me get this straight. All I have to do is slap a sloppy app together with nary a consideration for security. The more pointless the app the more successful I'll be.

BRB I'm going to invent the Derp app. Every time some useless app gets hacked you'll get a popup on your phone saying "derp."

as 'safe' as any android app that leaks like a sieve.

basher: that's funny.

I forgot the crucial part of my new app: it will send the private details of all the users to each new user!
Hey guise I think I'm really on to something here. Fund my kickstarter.
