How to change screen size so that Virtual Box isn't small

Hello,

I have already downloaded and ran the VirtualBoxGuestAdditions.iso file and I have it mounted to the machine that I am running.

I try to stretch the screen, and it doesn't get any larger. I read that this is what I needed to effect the screen resolution of Virtual machines in VBox.

How much memory does the computer have and how much memory have you assigned to the VM? I think the amount of memory assigned is a factor.

the memory of the computer i don't believe is a factor however, the computer has 8 gigs of ram, and VM is being given 4 gigs of ram. I believe the value is called Base memory is VM? is this the correct value that I am looking at?
