The subject just about summarizes the problem. I have to do a series of reboots to get in. Most of them get to the point of drawing the login screen with my first account's name at the top, with a blank password rectangle; at that point nothing works. I can't type a password, because the keyboard simply "doesn't work". Neither does the mouse. But it's not a total failure; after 3 or 4 or 5 reboots, the login works as if there were nothing wrong.
How can I diagnose and maybe fix this? There's not much I know to do if all inputs are ignored.
