I am running Ubuntu 12.04, and ever since I installed it about 7 months ago, I lost complete access to my BIOS and black screen boot menus on startup. I didn't give too much thought at the time, but now that I would like to format my computer I am unable to boot from the ISO that I'd like to install.

Is there a way through Ubuntu, that I can make a boot Live USB of Kali Linux, and force boot into it?

Thank you all for your help in advance :D

It sounds like your computer is set to fast boot. Mine will do the same but as soon as I hit the power button, I start pressing the F1 key in my case rapidly until I boot into my bios. Hope this helps you.

It's not. It's a different process that I'd like to give a try, and I thought posting it in the other section would be against the rules. The causes are the same if you're referencing between the two.

Fast boot is disabled, I did that first thing as soon as I got my computer. I like to see the dumps and checks it does while it boots. Even if I wanted to, I can't access the BIOS, and even when I spam enough where I think I might have gotten it, it simply loads the purple Ubuntu splash screen.
