using kubuntu, you can use also other window manager like xfce, twm, jwm
if Debian menu is installed it produces automatic an adequate file debian-menu building the try for the complete debian menu
but, in my case (Kubuntu 14.04) I see for ex. in my
/etc/jwm/system-jwmrc
(it is the same in the other WM's)
following references:
<Include>/etc/jwm/debian-menu</Include>
<Include>/etc/jwm/kde-menu</Include>
but no file «kde-menu»
in 13.10 I did have an adequate file kde-menu but I can't remember any more if I did have to do something myself to build it or if i was an automatic building (in such case today we would have a new bug :( )
