I'm doing a fresh install of 14.04 on a Lenovo G780. I've previously installed 13.10 a few times (that's another problem) and that install goes quite fast from a USB stick. This one takes ages to get going (from a USB stick) and after a few minutes I get the desktop, but nothing else happens. No icons nothing.
So I tried the 'Start Ubuntu without installing' option, and again after some time I get a full desktop. There's an icon on the desktop to install Ubuntu, when I click on it nothing happens.
So I can't install 14.04 from a USB stick. So I tried the burning the ISO to a CD and doing it that way. That didn't even get as far as the desktop.
So I can't install 14.04
Is the current installation ISO broken?
