Hi Folks,

Well this is the end of week one using lubuntu as my main OS.
I dig it. My old laptop feels new again http://forum.lxde.org/images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I have a question for which I have not been able to find an answer.
How can I change the font in the "Start" menu?
Specifically the start menu uses one font and I'd like it to use a different font.

Could someone tell me where that setting is controlled?
I've looked in Desktop preferences, Customize look and feel, the panel preferences (including the config file for the panel), the theme settings (gtk2, gtk3, openbox and unity). Where is this setting?? http://forum.lxde.org/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I cannot confirm this works as I am not on my Ubuntu box and wont be for a few days. I think I already tested that at some point and did change the font size a bit.

I was able to change the menu font through:

Menu > Preferences > Customized Look and Feel > Widget Tab

In the lower right, you see Default Font. Click on the font name, and a dialog pops up. There you can change the size or the entire font. However, this also changes the fonts in other places as well. Click OK and Apply to finish.

Thanks Dennis,

I tried that and for some reason the font that is used by the menu in the panel did not change.
The right click contextual menu that is accessed by right clicking on the desktop changed fonts but not the menu in the panel.

Did you click the Apply button? I just tried it again (using Lubuntu 14.04), selected a different font as default (Droid Sans 14), and it did change the application menu font for me. Now nice and large.

OK, I see you got it to work. It would be good if there was a way for the user to change the menu font only.

The panel font can be independently changed now through Panel Settings > Appearance. Check the custom size button and enter the size you want. A few releases ago, you couldn't do that.
