Ooh. That's nice. It's an attractive case style, and the price is right. I'm very happy with my Asus Vivobook with Ubuntu, and I imagine this would be a very similar user experience. Very nice to see Ubuntu toeing into the mainstream.

Dell did more damage than good the last time they pushed pre-loaded Ubuntu.

If they can just leave it stock - and with a five-year-supported LTS on a machine without an optical drive, they'd better damned well do - it'll be fine. We'll have to wait and see how it actually pans.

That trackpad better be properly multitouch OOTB, though.

With that price, I might still want to buy Win8.1 version and then later dual boot it or even completely wipe it clean for Ubuntu, just to get genuine W8.1 and save few hundred bucks. But that's just me :3

Although Dell offers the devices with Windows 8.1 by default customers can opt to replace it with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Desktop. Dell say the Ubuntu option will be available to select worldwide from September.

Do you mean the cheap netbooks back in 2008 or the XPS13 they currently offer?
