I am trying to install Xubuntu 14.04 64bit on a UEFI system but it always crashes on the first or second screen. The computer reboots and the dvd drive continues spinning.
I presently have Xubuntu 12.04, Linux Mint, and Zorin installed and wanted to replace Xubuntu with the newer version. There is no Windows version installed and my motherboard uses UEFI only.
I've done a md5sum check on the downloaded file and checked the disk integrity.

You might take the downloaded iso and make a USB live-media with startup-disk-creator. That would eliminate any DVD issues.
