I'm looking for a guide on how to install Ubuntu Server 14.04 using a SSD for the OS install and using two standard SATA HDD for mass, redundant storage.

I've used Intel Rapid Storage to set up the two HDD in RAID 1.

Then, when I install Ubuntu I use the Guided -- Use entire disk & Set Up LVM option

So far, I can't get the system to boot.

Do I need to set up LVM even if I've set up RAID via the Intel Rapid Storage? Anything else that could be causing the hang up?
