I downloaded 13.04 as my first ever Linux experience. While I prefer the way Mint operates on my laptop, I still want to keep Ubuntu as it is on my desktop which is running alongside Windows 7. I would like to upgrade it to 14.04 LTS. I already have my files backed up to a cloud and ready to go. But wanted some advice or instruction first. Do I install 14.04 as a new install or is there a way to upgrade? Anything to look for or any problems? Looks like some folks have had some according to the forum. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Well, if you're still running 13.04 then download a fresh copy of 14.04, and do a clean install(new install).
Maybe do a test run from the livecd, first.
Perhaps if you post your system specs, others might be able to verify whether or not there are any problems with what you have.
Also, If there are any programs which you have used in 13.04, which you liked. We can attest to whether any of those are functional in 14.04.

Upgraded to 13.10 and then to 14.04. Worked perfectly. Thanks for the responses.
