I have been searching for quite some time for a solution and haven't had much luck. I don't think a 3 year old kernel patch will work with the current kernel but I might be mistaken. I have the same problem most people have with this alps touchpad, can't make any changes and the touchpad jumps all over the place. I really don't like the idea of carrying a mouse with me wherever I go, so I hoping that someone has a fix.
