An e-mail service without security

Hello everyone!

I don't really know where to ask so I'm trying here.

I travel around the world right now and hotmail and gmail are giving me so much pain in the bottom because their automatic security bot is detecting that I'm connecting from a different country every 3 weeks and so most of the time my account is blocked.
This is ultra mega bullcrap for me, especially because there is not way to change the account into the "ima travelling lady leave me alone" mode.

So basically I'm looking for another email provider, without any security appart from the classical https, simple, free, without anything fancy, that can support the small devices (something like POP3 or SMTP). I could have gone for voila mail (http://mail.voila.fr/webmail/fr_FR/home.html) but they suppressed the POP3 service recently :(

Any idea?

Have you tried mail.com? I never travelled outside country, but within my own I've quite a lot, it doesn't look pretty but it hasn't been demanding either. You could also try to set-up your own domain mail, but I dunno how to do it for free. Other knowledgeable people might able to help you better.

You're getting an explicit message from Hotmail and GMail that you are being blocked because the IP address you are using is not the IP address used to create the account?

This sounds like something that would be worth addressing to Hotmail/Gmail customer service, by phone if necessary. The world is full of people who travel and use their mail accounts in one country after another. I've used both GMail and Apple's mail service outside the U.S. with no problems.

Sounds like you're solving the wrong problem. Just get a vpn (there are free ones). Then you'll always come from the same IP. Plus then when you're connected to dubious free wifi in any given country you're a smidge more secure.

it likely will. Gmail doesn't block me. it does notify me what IP account was accessed from. and it should block you. like they said many people travel and use email. to prevent this options google would be killing their business.

If you have a domain, or are willing to spend a few bucks to register one, I'd get a POP3 or IMAP mailbox and use that.

The domain registrar I use, DirectNIC, charges $10/year for mail services (https://directnic.com/email), plus the $15 annual fee for registering the domain. They have multi-year deals that reduce the registration fee down to about $11. I'm sure other registrars offer similar packages.
