background: xubuntu was my distro of choice ever since the main ubuntu interface decided it was going its own direction and I liked the idea of running a light distro. recently found out the "light" xubuntu distro can run just as heavy as the regular sometimes more! and with the latest release (theme looks nice) they have changed the interface around so it is now essentially upside down windows 7 menu typing interface thing with inwards moving menu system and all(don't really like it) those combined have sparked my lubuntu interest again ;)

tldr:I remember trying lubuntu in the past and ran into the exact same problem, no wifi on the menu bar, can't find any interface to see/activate (restricted)/drivers when running from the live cd, does it have a built in manager for wifi and should it have all the same drivers as xubuntu which works fine from the live cd on the same box!

thanks
