Does this fix any of the problems I've always had with XBMC on Ubuntu? Mouse support (I know, it's built for a remote, but how many of us really use a remote on our PCs?) has been terrible but works fine in XBMC in OpenELEC on a Raspberry Pi. With XBMC on Ubuntu, my playback would pause shortly every so often. Looking at my home folder, there was a new XBMC dump file created. I had a *LOT* of these dump files every time I ran XBMC on Ubuntu. Questions posted about both of these on the XBMC forum were blown off - "who uses a mouse?" "must be something you're doing wrong", etc..

I love XBMC on a Raspberry Pi, but have HATED the Ubuntu port.

So, are these problems solved?

Thanks

BTW - I do use a remote on my Raspberry Pi media centers, but also use a mouse for some functions. The mouse on the Pi's goes to and stays where it is supposed to. With the Ubuntu port, where the mouse was going, and where it would end up, seems to have a mind of its own.

Anyone else getting weird freezing when you try to exit to desktop? Have Xubuntu 14.04 & while XBMC 12.1 (from Synaptic) works fine, after removing it & adding the official PPA's for XBMC 13.0 Gotham Rises the program works, but freezes when you try to exit. Hmmmm.... After 3 times of having to hold the power button to force shutdown, I just went back to 12.3, which works fine again. ;)

I have never experienced that problem with XBMC except in VirtualBox when I was testing something in XBMC.

Did you confirm that Mouse support is Enabled in the input devices of XBMC?

I experienced one hard freeze but after the reboot it has not happened since.

I would imagine as with most new software releases that there are some issues that where not discovered during the Beta Testing phase that need to be ironed out.

Yep. I'll probably try it again in a little while. ;)
