Forgive me if this has been posted before.. I tried doing a search and was unsuccessful.

I downloaded the latest 64 bit ISO and burned it to DVD.

Last night I installed it on the only drive in the desktop PC checking the install updates during installation and install 3rd party software... during the installation It requested Erase, encrypt and volume management which I checked,I entered a password.... the installation went fine tested the keyboard, setup an account with exactly the same password as the encryption for the drive. i also setup to login automatically.

Everything was fine it booted in... I played around with the settings etc...no probs. I then tried to install Google Chrome... this is when I first noticed the password issue...it asked to authenticate the install and kept throwing up invalid password. Anyway I cancelled the install played around for a bit... everything else seem to be working fine, then I left the PC for a while returning to a Login screen again invalid password.

I decided to reinstall again today from the DVD and overwrite... except this time I did not check the encrypt drive...and did not setup automatically login. so once the install was complete the PC rebooted to a login screen... again Invalid password on a fresh install.

What am I doing wrong?

Any help would be much appreciated... have I downloaded a corrupted ISO?

EDIT: OK Solved it... :) However, this still doesn't tell me why it happened twice in the first place...also being able to do this is also a security issue. Wonder if the drive can be encrypted without having to reinstall.

Curiously, I downloaded another ISO this time 32 bit and installed it on an ASUS eeePC 10 inch notebook...install went smoothly. However, again I had the same issue with password invalid and again rectified it using the instructions above.

There is obviously a bug as the first install was on a desktop 64 bit ISO and the second on a notebook with a separate 32 bit version... just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?... or possibly I am doing something wrong when installing.
