Alt-F1 lost its keybinding

I've been running 14.04 beta for about a month now in a VM. At some point, my Alt-F1, which would bring up the Activities HUD lost its keybinding. I suspect that this occurred along with installing CompizConfig Settings Manager. Despite using the Unity plugin within CompizConfig to bind Alt-F1 to the HUD, it only brings up the menu options in the top bar, which is usually just the option to 'Quit', such as when running Firefox or the terminal.

Any idea how to get this binding back to bringing up the Activities HUD? That was very useful; much more so than Alt-F2 run window.
