14.04lts display

Well after days of trying I finally got 14.04lts clean install to work. However the display is 640x480 (4.3)

It will not let me change the display. It says built in display on and will not accept a change. What to do?

Processor amd athlon le1330

I have had no problem with other distros including Ubuntu 12.04lts

I had to use F6 and scroll down to and select nomodeset all other methods of installation with dvd failed.

What is the GPU OEM and model?
