Sorry if this is a dumb question, but why is Xfce 4.10 the latest Xfce that is released? Isn't it 2 years old? Has the project been abandoned?

Some of the new things from the 4.11/12 PPA have made their way into 4.10 and the PPA is still use at your own risk. I don't know if the PPA can be used with 14.04 yet. https://launchpad.net/~xubuntu-dev/+archive/xfce-4.12

it's just strange that the "Latest News" on their main website is dated April 28 2012....that's why I was asking if it was dead lol

They had a major problem of some kind and the proposed 4.12 release day was canned. I don't see any 14.04 packages at launchpad yet.
