Hi all,

I'm using Ubuntu for 2 years now on a Samsung NP900X3C. I've always updated to the most recent version via the software updater. Today I'm updating from 13.10 to 14.04. The update started fine, the download took me around 20 minutes over WiFi. But now it takes already 3 hours for 'Installing the upgrades' and the progress bar is only 1 fourth now... I noticed the same behavior when updating 6 months ago from 13.04 to 13.10, where it also took many many hours before completion.

CPU average for the last 15 minutes is only 2,26%, Memory usage indicates 31,2% (1.1Gib of 3.6GiB), Swap indicates 0.1% (2.8MiB of 3.7GiB)

Any idea why this takes so long for installing the upgrades? I don't see a direct reason, since the processor and memory usage seem to be fine.

Thx

I hate the upgrading thingy. I rather backup the /home and do a fresh install. 20 Mins to complete. :)
