I would like to remove the border on the displayed conky without having it disappear when clicking the desktop which happens when experimenting with the window type. (14.04 Unity)

Solved ! Override in place of normal seems to be working now and didn't when I first tried.

own_window_type normal # other options are: override/dock/desktop/panel

Hi Frogs Hair,
If you have any problems with own_window_type override it's still possible to get rid of
the shadow border when using own_window_type normal.

You need to use the the unity plugin in ccsm instead of the now disabled window decoration plugin.
See HERE (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2211469&p=12962568#post12962568).
