When installing Ubuntu 12.04 on a new laptop the four default workspaces was set to be some kind of superwidescreen. Only the 2/3ds of the workpace to the left is visible on the display, the rest is hidden somewhere, offscreen, to the right. The invisible area seems to be active. I can move an applications window out to the invisible area and things happen when I click on it with the mouse. Randomly, since I canīt see what I am doing. I have installed CompizConfig but canīt find any setting for the workspace size. I have browsed all kind of configuration files to see if there was any tempting setting to play around with. Of course I have tried Googling, with no success. Can anyone give me a hint?

Silly me. I have been there before, System settings under Displays. Only, this time I noticed that an extra display, docked to the right side of my main display, was set to ON by default. Changing the setting to OFF fixed my issue.
