View Full Version : [SOLVED] Is there a 12.04 "2D" equivalent in 13.10?

When I try to set up my dual display in 13.10, I get a message that says the hardware won't allow the selected resolution of the combined displays. In 12.04, switching to 2d from 3d neatly solves the problem. Is there a way I can accomplish this in 13.10? When I did this in 12.04, it also immediately configured the second display as an extended desktop. I see no option for this in 13.10. Please tell me it's possible!

2D Unity isn't available for 13.10, AFAICT: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2042780

If you must stay with unity, 12.04 is supported till 2017.

Another option would be a different desktop.

So what I'm hearing is that if I need an extended desktop (dual displays), I simply cannot use 13.10? Somehow I find that hard to believe. But for now, I'll just go back to 12.04 just to get the job done. I do feel that this would be a pretty important issue for the community to address, as having two displays with the second as an extended desktop is a common setup.

Dual monitors and 13.10 may of been a better title for your thread. Would of brought in people with dual monitor experience.

Instead, the question in your title has been answered.
