Yes.

if you update with apt-get, use dist-upgrade to bring in any new kernels.

Hi there!

absolutely - from when alpha releases to us you do not need to reinstall. The development team continuously update the packaged through the repository, and the alpha, beta, final releases are just mile stones along that development.

To be honest you won't even notice 14.04 released at all, it'll just be another update.

bare in mind however that 14.04 is still beta. I've been using it for over a month and i no longer have issues, but things can break from one update to the next and it is still not recommended to replace primary installs.

i never update my main ubuntu LTS for at least the first month after release.

thank you for supporting the development of ubuntu. Kindly report any bugs you find direct to launchpad (https://launchpad.net).

Jj
