Hi,

I upraded to Ubuntu 13.1 2 weeks ago. I installed the Intel 1.04 32 bit graphics drivers (https://01.org/linuxgraphics/downloads) on my Dell inspiron laptop. Followed the instructions to get sotfware keys etc and used the intel GUI for driver installation, which seemed to work fine. I see no change in listed drivers after the installation though. Installed graphics still show as Intel® Ironlake Mobile x86/MMX/SSE2 - the same as before installing the new drivers. Is there some way to check that the drivers installed properly, or were they already installed by default when I upgraded. There is nothing listed in the "additional drivers" section of software and updates. No proprietary drivers are listed as being in use.

Can someone calrify this for me. thank you very much. :KS

Because Intel are supported out of the box, they are built in to the kernel
No need to install anything

Not really.... not the current intel drivers....

When you're dealing with 4k/thunderbolt these current drivers that are not in the kernel matter.
