Hey everyone,

So I have a macbook pro 5.5 and it stopped working, it randomly would crash (freeze). I have tried replacing with a new hard drive and used RAM. I boot to the linux boot menu and I try to boot into the Kubuntu install and it always seems to fail somewhere. The OEM install gets further but seems to always freeze somewhere in the install.

It is starting to look like a bad hardware (motherboard?) issue but I am not sure how to confirm.

Can anyone help me...

A.) Install the operating system
or
B.) Confirm their are hardware issues (probably either memory or board or both)

I can boot to a LinuxMint disk and I seem to be able to get to cmd line but I have no osx left installed.

Thanks guys!

Jackie

Appears to be some sort of issue with either the logic or the motherboard getting random sig11s. Any way to confirm?
