Hello, I'm having some issues with 13.10 and also 14.04. I'm willing to set 14.04 aside right now as it's still early.

My motherboard is Asus 990FX. I have tested with several hard drives. What I've found is that 13.10 works consistently but only when I've selected the "normal" clocking option in BIOS. Processor is AMD FX 8120.

Whenever I choose the "performance" option, which sets me at about 3.9ish, I get repeated soft lock ups and other anomalies which prevent the system from fully booting up.

I haven't tried any other form of overclocking, only the easy option that Asus offers on in EZ Mode.

What gives? Is the kernel just unstable?

Overclocking has never been an issue on my box when using 12.04, 12.10, or 13.04. Any help is appreciated. I can supply any logs necessary with direction as it's pretty easy to reproduce.

Thanks!
