I notice there are some keyboard shorcuts that don't work anymore after a kernel update ..

Ctrl-Alt-T
Ctrl-Shift-N
Ctrl-Alt-F7

$ lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 13.10
Release: 13.10
Codename: saucy
$ uname -r

You might be better choosing the previous kernel you used at boot up ...... see if it
works ok in that ..... then look at other ways of upgrading your kernel .

As maybe you have lost some of the functionality through missing start up modules.

One question.

What was the reason to upgrade the kernel ......
