My guess is that you would NOT be able to do that.

But, you need to understand that this involves running an Android app on your phone and flashing it with a custom ROM.

Your best bet (since this is an Android action, not an Ubuntu action), is to check with the various Android phone forums for your make and model phone and see if there are threads there dealing with doing just this.

My personal advice is, unless you are experienced with flashing custom ROMs on your phone (as in, know how to do it, have done it, know how to backup your phone using Odin, know how to restore your phone to its original flashed ROM) that you leave well enough alone.

This process is NOT intended for the casual cell phone user, but instead, for experienced developers.
