So I was trying out linux mint on a live USB. To my surprise it seemed to play very nicely with my nvidia graphics card - dual monitors and everything. So I decided to go ahead and install it. The install went fine.

When I restarted I got a grub error. This happened when install ubuntu too, so I tried the same fix: I installed and ran boot-repair. Now the boot works alright, I get a grub menu and I select Linux Mint.

The Linux Mint logo fades in and right when it looks like the logo is fully opaque, it stops. Just stops right there. So I'm not sure if my problem is with my graphics card not working, for if there is something wrong with the boot process. And no clue how to find out what's wrong either.

Think you may get more responses if you visit the Mint forums (http://forums.linuxmint.com/index.php) where they are pretty quick to answer or help you find the answer.
