Hello,
Running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS After installing a new software I had a problem which don't let me load the desktop enviroment. It was solved by purging and installing again lightdm.
The problem now is that it takes about 30 s between I see the backgroud image and the icons.
I also notice that now there is no system sound when logging.
I am quite new in Ubuntu and I don't know where to look for the problem. If you need some log file just ask for it.
