I have to sell my existing box (240V PSU) and buy a new one when I move country (110V).
Is this possible with ubuntu that I can just plug the new hard drives into the new box and it will work?
With windows there are a whole load of driver updates that would need to happen so will Ubuntu find the new drivers for the new system?

It's likely to work, if you are only using open-source drivers.

You could also look into buying a voltage transformer so you could use the machine at you new location. Not just one of those little gizmos that handle plug conversions, but a larger device that converts 110 to 240.

Also, many power supplies are switchable between 110 and 220/240. Check your PSU.

To be more precise, avoid proprietary drivers for graphics and wifi, and it is very likely to work (and if the new computer needs such a driver or maybe a boot option, then install it and go)!
