View Full Version : Multiple Displays - blank screen on boot.

I have a Dell XPS 8700 with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 645 OEM video card.

If I have three displays connected on boot, no X11 display comes up. If I have one display connected on boot, that one display comes up fine. The other two displays then immediately work ok if I connect them.

I'm seeing this behavior both with the default video driver and after installing the one from the administration section within X11 (NVIDIA binary Xorg driver kernel module and VDPAU library).

What I find really peculiar is that this worked when I was first installing. I started the system with all 3 monitors connected and I had a single desktop of all three. If it can work in this mode, with the default driver, this tells me it isn't a driver issue, but an X11 configuration issue of some sort.

I am also seeing this with Linux Mint as well.

Thanks,
Douglas.
