I recently put together a desktop computer (i5 Haswell processor, no graphics card), and I decided to install Ubuntu on it right away. Everything went fine in the install phase; the installer was able to detect my Asus Wi-Fi USB stick, and was able to bring me to a fully-functioning desktop afterwards. Unfortunately, this morning when I went to turn it on again, Unity refused to load, and the Wi-Fi stick could not be detected. Is there a way to fix both of these problems?
