setting up seprate windows on the cube

hi all i remember ages a go my mates brow had ubuntu set up he had one side of the cube as a media play another side was all his work docs. does any one a a link to a thread on how to set up seprate windows on the cube or what to down package to download to do it i always end up with loads of stuff on my window and its a pain finding what ever i want thanks

If you open a window on one desktop and another window on another desktop, you have the situation you are looking for. Each will stay on its proper desktop unhtil you close it.
