Julia Programming Language (http://julialang.org/)

What do you guys think of Julia? Are there any pro's and con's worth mentioning?

Good question. I'm also interested. (To be clear, I've never used it, just heard about it.)

It might be something that could compete in C's playing field, but I haven't heard of anyone using it for drivers or other low-level work -- just heavy math. (Which is fine too, but not related to my interests.)

I heard it was a language that has a good amount of performance, but I have yet to find benchmark statistics.

EDIT: Here's a benchmark from the official page.
